Course Syllabus & Description
Study clarinet at Dee-chords Music Academy. Develop tone, technique, and repertoire for solo and ensemble performance in classical and contemporary styles.
Course Overview
This course introduces students to the fundamentals and advanced techniques of clarinet performance. Learners will develop tone production, finger dexterity, and expressive phrasing while exploring classical, jazz, and contemporary repertoire. The program emphasizes both solo and ensemble playing, preparing students for orchestral, band, and live performance contexts.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate proper posture, hand positioning, and embouchure.
Read and interpret clarinet notation accurately.
Perform scales, arpeggios, and etudes to build technical fluency.
Develop tone quality, intonation, and dynamic control.
Apply stylistic expression across classical and modern repertoire.
Collaborate effectively in ensemble and orchestral settings.
Maintain and care for the clarinet properly.

Module 2: Breath Control & Tone Production
Module 3: Scales, Arpeggios & Technical Studies
Module 4: Classical & Jazz Repertoire
Module 5: Expression & Interpretation
Module 6: Ensemble & Orchestral Playing
Module 7: Performance & Stage Presentation
Outcomes
Graduates will be confident clarinet players with technical fluency, expressive artistry, and the ability to perform across genres in both solo and ensemble contexts.
Class Structure:
Diploma Students:
Duration: 1 year Diploma
6 months minimum, (Renewable)
For a Diploma in Music certification.
Course 1.: Choice instruments selected. (Major)
Course 2: Theory of music and Sight reading (Compulsory)
Course 3: (Ear training)
Course 4: MUSON/ABRSM Certification. (Elective)
Lecture Structure:
3 days a week (Mondays: 10am - Tuesdays: 1pm - Thursdays: 1pm)
Weekend Students:
Children : 9am - 12pm
Adults: 12;30 - 3pm
Subscriptions:
Contact our admin for Subscriptions options, you can choose a monthly, quarterly, Six monthly, or Annual subscription. Which ever is convenient, would be your payment renewal plan.
